Having rejuvenated Ford’s lineup in Malaysia, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion’s attempt at reviving the blue oval continues apace, with the simultaneous appointment of four 3S dealers throughout the country. Honda owners and fans down south would be pleased to note that Honda Malaysia has just recently opened an a new 3S centre, Wang Loo Motors Sdn Bhd (Wang Loo) in Kulai, Johor Bahru. Present at the official launch of the showroom on 18 Feb 2009 was Mr Atsushi Fujimoto, MD & CEO of HM, who officiated the opening of the 56th Honda dealer in Malaysia.

Wang Loo’s opening would strengthen Honda’s presence down south, allowing Johor-based Honda owners and buyers greater access to the brand’s service and dealership network. According to Fujimoto, folks in Johor accounted for 12% of 32,486 Honda cars sold in the country for 2008, and Honda estimates that its customer base in Johor amounts to 16,000 people.

To their credit, ever since taking back exclusive distributorship of Honda cars from Kah Motor, Honda Malaysia has worked to bring its entire network of dealers to 3S (Sales, Service & Spare Parts) status to ‘provide a total package of service and convenience to customers nationwide.’

Indeed, with Wang Loo’s addition, Honda’s number of 3S centres stands at 53, out of its 56 dealers. By 2010, Honda’s aim is to have 60 dealerships throughout the country, and Wang Loo’s addition to their network will be quickly followed by new branches opening in Penang and also Sarawak.
