In memoriam: Peter Hastie
Thursday, September 11th, 2008On Tuesday we lost a good man, Volvo Cars Malaysia’s Marketing and PR Director Peter Hastie, he was 41.
The likeable chap always has a smile on his face and he is the welcoming face at Volvo events since joining the company in March this year.
He leaves behind wife Frances and two sons Scott and Ian

Mr. Peter Hastie, Marketing and PR Director of Volvo Car Malaysia, passed away after suffering a heart attack last night. He was 41.
He leaves behind his wife Frances Chong and two sons, Scott and Ian.
Peter was known for his good-nature and easy-going personality, which endeared him to his colleagues and those around him.
According to President of VCM Mr. Robert Norrman, ?Peter was very professional at Volvo and was a real team member plus the fact that he was a really nice person to work with.
He left a legacy of passion for the brand and was responsible for the successful launch and marketing of several new and facelift cars this year including the best-selling XC90 facelift, the stylish new C30 and the ever-popular facelift S40.
Peter joined VCM in March this year and was in charge of marketing and PR efforts for Volvo Cars in Malaysia plus seven other Asian markets.
Before joining VCM, Peter was with several corporations handling fast-moving consumer goods since 1992. This included spells at Esthetics International Group Bhd and Carlsberg Marketing Sdn Bhd.
His body returned to his home today at Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam.
