Sales Tax Exemption: New Prices For Volkswagen Cars In Malaysia

Volkswagen Golf GTI_Mark 7.5With the sales tax exemption implemented for new cars in Malaysia, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has released a new price list. Under the government’s short-term economic recovery plan, new cars sold will be exempted from sales tax (100% exemption for locally assembled vehicles; 50% exemption for imported vehicles). This tax exemption period is from 15 June until 31 December 2020.

Volkswagen vehicles that are locally assembled (CKD) are the Polo, Vento, Tiguan and Passat. The Golf family however (R-Line, GTI and R), are fully imported (CBU). With the sales tax exemption, you can expect savings of up to RM3,881 on the Tiguan, RM6,133 on the Passat, and RM4,884 on the Golf R-Line.

All Volkswagen models come with 3-years free maintenance, 5-years manufacturer’s warranty and 5-years roadside assistance.
